If you are concerned about yourself or somebody else.

On this page you will find information about early warning signs and symptoms. The content is not exhaustive and it is important to remember that individuals all respond differently. 

Anxiety 

  • Unrealistic or exessive fear, anger, confusion, feeling on edge.
  • Worrying about past or future events, mind racing or going blank, poor concentration
  • Avoidance of situations or people. obsessive or compulsive behaviour, distress in social situations
  • Stomach pains, dry mouth, difficulty sleeping

Depression

  • Sadness, guilt, anger, mood swings. lack of emotional resposiveness, helplessness, hopelessness
  • Self-criticism, self-blame, worry, pessimism, impared concentration, thoughts of death and suicide
  • Withdrawal from others, loss of motivation, slowing down, use of alcohol and other drugs
  • Fatigue, lack of energy, change in sleeping pattern, change in eating pattern, weight loss or gain,
  • loss of sexual desire
