Lived Experience

"When I got my diagnosis my main feeling was relief. It explained years of exhausting, roller-coaster emotions that made my daily life and work difficult. I worried about whether medication would have side effects or would affect my personality but it was a chance I was willing to take.

I let my family and some friends know so that I had a support network and that has worked out to be very helpful. Consistently doing the exercises my psychologist gave me, so that it became second nature to use my resilience strategies and sticking with my self-care plan of adequate sleep, healthy diet and daily exercise is also really helpful.
